SUPERVISION
Supervision is more than just a required component of every practicing psychologists registration. It should be a space where we not only review our clinical work with client’s but we also develop our knowledge and reflect on our experiences of engaging with this work. Supervision should be able to offer a range of levels of reflection from the immediate practical components of how you might engage a technique, and formulate a difficulty, to thinking about the context of the work, the relationships that are developed and managed and the challenges that arise professionally and sometimes personally in this process.
Supervision should be a space where you can bring your difficulties and your successes and continue to develop as a psychological therapist.
As experienced supervisors we are able to offer private supervision to suit many purposes. As both accredited, and experienced, BABCP therapists we are able to fulfil the requirements for ongoing accreditation. This can include listening to audio recordings for reflection against the CTS-r, engaging in role plays, or modelling different techniques. In addition to BABCP Therapist accreditation, Anna-Maria Smit has also completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in CBT supervision.
We have many years experience in supervising individuals from more junior colleagues completing their training, in Clinical Psychology and CBT training, to more senior and experienced professionals who might want a more reflexive space to discuss relational issues and complex cases.
We would be happy to speak with you about any supervision needs you may have and to think about how we work together.
