Difficulties we work with regularly
Our therapists have extensive NHS and private practice experience across a broad range of presentations. All treatment is grounded in NICE-recommended, evidence-based approaches.
Arrange an assessment →Three evidence-based treatment approaches
All three therapies are recommended by NICE and supported by extensive clinical research. Your therapist will discuss which approach — or combination — is most appropriate for your presentation.
CBT is based on the principle that it is the meaning we attach to events — not the events themselves — that drives emotional distress. Therapy involves a collaborative process of identifying and re-examining unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour that maintain difficulties. It is structured, time-limited and highly effective across a broad range of presentations.
EMDR helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories that have become "stuck" and continue to generate intense distress. Bilateral stimulation — typically guided eye movements — facilitates the brain's natural processing system, reducing the vividness and emotional intensity of traumatic memories. Recognised by NICE as an effective treatment for PTSD.
ACT takes a different approach to managing psychological distress: rather than challenging the content of thoughts, it focuses on changing your relationship to them. Through acceptance and mindfulness strategies, ACT helps reduce the influence of unhelpful thoughts and supports commitment to behaviour guided by personal values — building a rich and meaningful life.
